APPLICATIONS OF TRIGONOMETRY IN DAILY LIFE Trigonometry is one of the branches of mathematics which deals with the relationship between the sides of a triangle (right triangle) with its angles. There are 6 trigonometric functions for which the relation between sides and angles are defined. There are six trigonometric ratios, sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant and cotangent. These six trigonometric ratios are abbreviated as sin, cos, tan, cosec, sec, cot. These are referred to as ratios since they can be expressed in terms of the sides of a right-angled triangle for a specific angle θ.
